We got a big tax return. A really big tax return. It was a function of many things: Jake was born, Frank never adjusted his withholdings after Jake was born, and I only worked for six months out of the year, but taxed at a rate assuming I would gross a much higher amount.
Some of it will go toward our house savings account. I’m thinking we might take some of it and buy a king-size bed, because right now we have a queen, and while it certainly isn’t small when we first go to bed, by morning it can have up to two more bodies in it and then we definitely yearn for a bit more space.
But I also just took a good hunk of it and paid off the last of my student loans — the only outstanding debt we have right now. When the payment goes through on Monday, we will have absolutely no debt. Pretty cool.
